All-Womens Backpacking + Yoga: Knobstone

Service Description

JUNE 13-18, 2024: Have you ever wanted to seek out on a multi-day backcountry experience in the woods & not wanted to travel far for it? If so, & you're a Midwesterner, this is the backpacking adventure for you! Believe it or not, Indiana is home to one of the hilliest thru-hikes in the Midwest. Other Hoosiers & Midwesterners often use the Knobstone Trail to train for their mountain adventures in places like Colorado, Washington and California. The deep ravines & long hill-climbs make it perfect for an epic adventure right here in the Midwest! It is not required, but it is highly encouraged that you to have backpacking experience before embarking on this adventure. **Who is this trip for? Anyone who identifies as a female or non-binary. **What will this adventure include? -6 Days of Guided backpacking with 2 female professional backpacking/wilderness educators -ALL food, snacks, electrolyte powder, coffee, tea and water treatment (for cleaning our water) (All meals will be Vegan and Gluten Free with options for meat on the side) -All gear for the expedition (including tents, stoves, pots, pans, shelters, wilderness first aid kit, repair gear and etc). Backpacks, sleeping bags and sleeping pads are available for rent. -a 6-Week Backpacking Wellness Training Plan -1 One-hour long group meet-up/Q&A via zoom or in person (depending on your lcation) we will meet at North Mass Boulder in Indianapolis, the Thursday night of May 16, 2024 at 6:30PM -2 Yoga Flows / day lead by Registered Yoga Instructor, Patty Haltom -Project Reteach Journals w/ Journal Prompts -Project Reteach Shirt to commemorate the experience -Multiple lessons about backpacking (including advanced navigation skills, knot tying, building a fire from scratch and more) -1 Shuttle service from the Northern Terminus of the Knobstone Trail back to the Southern Terminus (on our last day) We will meet at the Southern Terminus of the Knobstone Trail (at Deam Lake State Recreation Area) on June 13 at 10AM. We will aim to finish by 3PM on June 18th at the Northern Terminus of the Knobstone (Delaney Creek Park). If you do not currently have backpacking experience but are hoping to gain some this spring, Patty Haltom, the founder and owner of Project Reteach is available for hire to help you learn more via adventure coaching and overnight backpacking trips. Cancellation Policy

To cancel, please contact me directly in no less than 7 days before an event at patty@projectreteach.com For all multi-day trips, please give 90 day notice for cancellation. Anything canceled in less than 90 days cannot be refunded. All deposits are non-refundable. All outdoor experiences/yoga classes with Project Reteach are substance-free and will not be permitted de to the remoteness of these events. Failure to follow any rules or suggestions provided by the outdoor professional guides may result in your removal from the experience due to concerns for the individual's safety.
