Service Description

Are you someone who loves getting into the outdoors and would like to further your knowledge on how to camp or backpack in the outdoors for longer periods of time? Are you just curious to learn more and gain a new set of skills in the outdoors? Then this is the series for you! (all genders welcome!) Throughout 4 different 2 hour long classes this outdoor Education series will dive into different ways of helping you excel in the wilderness! The following topics will be covered: June 8: 10AM - 12PM - Knot Tying and Shelter Building (@ Scott Starling Nature Sanctuary) - we will learn to tie 5 different knots during this class and also work together to set up a shelter with our new knot-tying skills. June 22: 10AM - 12PM - Backpacking 101 - (@ 100 Acres Park at Newfields) How to pack for a backpacking trip in any season and what to bring and leave behind. It will also include going over what to do if you become lost and what to do if you find yourself hiking during a bad thunderstorm. July 6: 11AM - 1PM - Plant Identification 101 + Water Treatment - (@ Yellowood State Forest - Yellowood Lake) - we will identify plants that can give you rashes and plants that are edible along this hike and treat water for our water bottles from a small running creek. July 28: 10AM - 12PM - Navigation + Map Reading/Compass skills - Learn the basics of Map Reading + Compass use while hiking through Eagle's Crest Nature Sanctuary. Cancellation Policy

To cancel, please contact me directly in no less than 7 days before an event at patty@projectreteach.com For all multi-day trips, please give 90 day notice for cancellation. Anything canceled in less than 90 days cannot be refunded. All deposits are non-refundable. All outdoor experiences/yoga classes with Project Reteach are substance-free and will not be permitted de to the remoteness of these events. Failure to follow any rules or suggestions provided by the outdoor professional guides may result in your removal from the experience due to concerns for the individual's safety. All questions should be forwarded to the owner and founder of Project Reteach Outdoor Adventures, Patty Haltom at patty@projectreteach.com Refunds cannot be issued for cancellations under 96 hours for 1 day experiences.
